Soccer Season #1
The boys of the family have wrapped up their first soccer season.
It is truly a delight that for the first time ever, Daddy's work schedule allows him to be consistently involved in the kids' sports activities. Since the homeschooling community here is practically non-existent, we don't have the option of daytime group sports like we did in ND. We completely avoided afternoon and evening sports in previous years because it was too much on our plates...ok, on MY plate because with a baby, a toddler and a Hubs who couldn't help or attend things, it was not a good decision to wear this Mama down any further. That, coupled with the fact that we just aren't those parents convinced that small children need to have a full calendar or a resumé of athletic talents.
All that said, we are easing into a new season of life where everyone has the time and energy to add a couple evenings of sports. It was wonderful that Daddy could be a part of this scheduling transition. He had a blast coaching and the boys' enjoyed playing!

Week 21
Week 21 ended with us on the go, again. We joined the Hubs on a work trip to Germany and decided to make a long weekend of it.
We drove over to Ramstein, Germany on Thursday evening so the Hubs could be up and running for a big important briefing on Friday.
Friday afternoon, we drove to Stuttgart, Germany. With 4 kids, it's not easy to find accommodations in Europe, so we decided to stay at a base, though our destination was another hour away...Legoland! We got up Saturday and drove over to Günzburg, Germany. The kids were surprised and elated as we pulled up. It was a fun day because the 3 olders are really into legos!
We drove back to Stuttgart to spend the night, then we headed home the next morning, via Heidelberg, Germany. The weather was gorgeous there and we ate a yummy lunch in the town square, then toured the Schloss (Castle).

Dandelion #3: Excellent driver. Dandelion #4: Scared of the gas pedal; too distracted; caused traffic jams. |
